Fine-GrainedLoad Distribution in Object Based Systems An Experiment with Grain Sizes in Guide-2

چکیده

One of the key factors for success in object based load distribution is to determine the right granularity for the load distribution facility. This granularity should be fine enough to prevent the occurrenceof major load imbalances, but on the same time coarse enough to ensure that the performance gained by load distribution exceeds the overhead of distribution. This paper addresses this issue and investigates possible performancebenefits of different granularities of load distribution in Guide-2. MOTS CLÉS : Répartition de Charge, Systèmes à Objets

Abnormal Plastic Behavior of Fine Grain Mp35n Alloy During Room Temperature Tensile Testing

In this paper, results of an investigation on the strain hardening responses of superalloy MP35N with two average grain sizes of 38 and 1 μm, during room temperature tensile testing are reported. The microstructural evolution of the deformed samples was studied using optical and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) techniques. The strain hardening behavior of the 38 μm material was rather sim...

Grain Size Effect on the Hot Deformation Processing Map of AISI 304 Austenitic Stainless Steel

In this study, the hot deformation processing map of AISI 304 austenitic stainless steel in two initial grain sizes of 15 and 40 μm was investigated. For this purpose, cylindrical samples were used in the hot compression test at the temperature range of 950-1100 °C and the strain rate of 0.005-0.5% s-1. At first, the relationship between the peak stress and Zener-Hollomon parameter w...

Numerical Simulation of Failure Behavior of Granular Debris Flows Based on Flume Model Tests

In this study, the failure behaviors of debris flows were studied by flume model tests with artificial rainfall and numerical simulations (PFC(3D)). Model tests revealed that grain sizes distribution had profound effects on failure mode, and the failure in slope of medium sand started with cracks at crest and took the form of retrogressive toe sliding failure. With the increase of fine particle...

Statistical Background Modeling Based on Velocity and Orientation of Moving Objects

Background modeling is an important step in moving object detection and tracking. In this paper, we propose a new statistical approach in which, a sequence of frames are selected according to velocity and direction of some moving objects and then an initial background is modeled, based on the detection of gray pixel's value changes. To have used this sequence of frames, no estimator or distribu...

Triple junction diffusion and plastic flow in fine-grained materials

A theoretical model is suggested which describes the yield stress dependence on grain size in fine-grained materials, based upon competition between conventional dislocation slip, grain boundary diffusional creep (Coble creep) and triple junction diffusional creep. In the framework of the model, the contribution of diffusional creep mechanisms to plastic deformation increases with reduction of ...
